Continuing today's trio of twelve inch re-rips ...hairspray at the ready chaps, it's A Flock of Bloody Seagulls.
I sit firmly in the camp that A Flock Of Seagulls only made two worthy singles, this and I Ran of course, I just couldn't find much to like about their other releases. I realise they built a bigger following in the USA where this assortment of new-wave was considered newer wave and an American audience had a greater level of tolerance than us more reserved Brits. After all, what on earth was going on with all that hair.

Used to associate this song with a girlfriend I reeealllllly had feelings for -- because I didn't have a photograph of hers... (It was at the time of the release of this album...)
ReplyDeleteI mostly agree with you on the songs, though Telecommunication is also decent, so give that a listen again at some point (it's not as good as the two singles you mentioned, but it doesn't suck). As for the clothes and hairdo, yeah we thought all you Euro folks were running around looking like that 🤣 (just kidding)

I used to like them a bit in the 80s and now I LOVE them, especially since I found out Bill Nelson (yes, THAT Bill Nelson) produced their 1st single (Telecommunication) and also that their first 2 albums are about UFOs and ALIENS!!! ***empanadilla***
