Medium Medium ‎- The Glitterhouse [OPT4.21 UK 3LP 2017 24-Bit FLAC] British archive label Optic Nerve Recordings compiled the works of Medium Medium onto a three platter set back in 2017. In addition to The Glitterhouse album, we are also treated to all the band's singles, unreleased demo sessions tracks for Dutch label Sound-Products and the Adrian Sherwood single mix of Hungry, So Angry . The third record is a twelve inch EP of tracks recorded during the bands reformation in 2008.  Sounds great, eh? Well now the bugs.... clear splatter vinyl is not a great medium for remastered tracks and the surface noise becomes quite noticeable in places. This album would have been a great opportunity to clear up the issues with singles such as Splendid Isolation , I am not convinced those featured here are an improvement. The sound quality on the extra EP is excellent, however this is an older Medium Medium and unfortunately they have lost their edge (I'm being kind here) and...

The fine debut single from these Nottingham funky post-punksters also featured on the Hicks From The Sticks compilation, an important compilation which has featured on ESWA in the past, and most of you should already have.
