Shakti - Verboden Dromen [STREP 028 BEL 2019 24-Bit FLAC] Jos Borremans, Maurice Engelen and Cornelia Van Lierop are, on the face of it, just ordinary Flemish sounding names, however when they became Jade 4 U, Praga Khan and Shakti they were responsible for some of the nineties biggest dance records. Before all the success, they released a few dark wave dance singles as Shakti which are all very rare and now very collectible. Stroom Records have done a great job here, compiling those singles and other rarities into a fine album of early Belgian techno. As their sound progressed, they added influences from the east, with a particular highlights being The Awakening with its heavy tribal beats, which was a b-side to the Forbidden Dreams single and the seductive Kamasutra .
