Dizzy Afro
Dizzy Gillespie And His Orchestra - Afro [MG N-1003 USA 2022 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] Originally released on Nogran Records in 1954, jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie recorded this classic afro-cuban jazz album with Cuban percussionists Chico O'Farrill, Ramon Santamaria and Candido Camera over two sessions in New York in May & June 1954. Given the age of these mono recordings, they still sound fresh & vibrant today, courtesy of Ryan K. Smith's 2022 AAA mastering from the original master tapes. The version was released last year as part of the Vinyl Me Please Classic Series, pressed onto super quiet black vinyl at Record Technology Incorporated. Essential listening to kick off a brand new year. A1 Manteca Theme A2 Contraste A3 Jungla A4 Rhumba-Finale B1 A Night In Tunisia B2 Con Alma B3 Caravan
