Soft Cell - Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing [1-23694 USA 1982 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC]

Soft Cell reworked parts of their debut album for the dance floor, adding a new track What! for this mini album in the summer of 1982. Originally recorded with Donald Fagen, a contractual dispute meant that Mike Thorne oversaw final production duties.

Much more uptempo that the original album recordings, this version is the US release which included Insecure...Me?, which replaced Chips On My Shoulder on the UK version.

    This Memorabilia remix really smashed the dancefloors, and it certainly is one of the finest moments of Soft Cell, together with "Torch". Must love Cindy Ecstacy, reducing her to "our drug dealer" like Almond did in later witty remarks is as wrong as it can be. In the same year she was also part of Almond's "Untitled" album, and also appeared on the "NonStopExoticVideoShow", and of course the brilliant Torch 12".
    Did not know about a different tracklist on the US versions of this record, but there we are.
    "What?" is probably the lamest Soft Cell song ever, but who cares, if we can have Memorabilia...

    Wait a minute, did you say Donald Fagen from Steely Dan... I had to look that up, I had no idea they tried to make an album together... that kinda blows my mind, wow, now that would be interesting to finally dig out of the vaults.
    This album is a great Sequel to "Non Stop Erotic Cabaret" The joke does run a bit thin on Where Did Our Love Go, after a few listens, but basically brilliant stuff here. Pet Shop Boys were obviously taking notes for later times.
