Milky Ways And All That

The Church - Starfish [IR-027 USA 2021 2LP 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC]

From Intervention Records, another of the small boutique labels who do vinyl right, this double LP all-analogue pressing of The Church's biggest selling album from 1988 has finally found distributors across this side of The Atlantic.

Mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analogue master tapes and expended with an additional eight tracks, this is a beautifully recorded alternative rock album which sounds as good as it ever could. It took these antipodean rockers seven years, three record labels and six albums to break into America, courtesy of their biggest hit single, Under The Milky Way. There isn't a bad track on this album which, despite its more polished sound, proved that all those years of hard graft were finally worth it.
