Cybotron - Enter [CR 00079 EU 2018 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC]

Originally released as a vinyl album in 1983 on Fantasy Records. I thought I might be able to improve on my 2019 rip of this Craft Recordings reissue. So here is a brand new 176.4kHz rip.

Cybotron came from Detroit, formed by Juan Atkins and Richard '3070' Davis, they released two very Kraftwerk influenced singles, Alleys Of Your Mind and Cosmic Cars on their own Deep Space label before signing to Fantasy for this album and the accompanying Clear single.

Many years ago, likely during late 1983, I was a young lad discovering dance music courtesy of the DJs at Manchester's Hacienda night club. Clear  was one of those tracks which had the greatest impact and although it was almost impossible to track down at the time on vinyl, it remained a favourite prompting me to eventually find a copy in the late eighties ...way beyond a time where it remained important. This represented an era where electro(nic) dance music was innovative blending influences from New York (early Bambaataa etc) and Germany (Kraftwerk & Tangerine Dream), bleeding into early electro and hip-hop. Cybotron are often mooted as the fathers of Detroit techno ....to me they seemed much more than that.

A1    Enter
A2    Alleys Of Your Mind
A3    Industrial Lies
A4    The Line
B1    Cosmic Cars
B2    Cosmic Raindance
B3    El Salvador
B4    Clear

  4. Thank you for the new vinyl rip. I own the 2013 Expanded CD remaster, so I'm looking forward to how the vinyl compares...probably far better given your set up. I follow the same story as yours. I heard 'Clear' via the local Chicago radio station WBMX, back then. I found it on Street Sounds Crucial Electro LP compilation. years later I found a beat up copy of 'Enter' and cherished it until the obvious CD remaster came out. Side note, the track 'Techno City' (not found here), released soon after the full length 'Enter', would be one of my massive favorites from that era. Thanks again!
