The Higsons - The Curse Of The Higsons [UPLP 6 UK 1984 24-Bit FLAC]

A wholly new rip and a substantial upgrade from my last 2012 rip of the only proper album by The Higsons. Their unique style of quirky pop-punk-funk was good fun, and together with The Farmers Boys and the wonderful Serious Drinking, the 'Popular Sound of Norwich' was born. Unlike The Farmers Boys, The Higsons never broke through into the big time, but after a series of great singles followed by this album, they did have the chance to leave their mark on British indie pop.

Heat is a rerecorded version of their 1981 classic single Got To Let This Heat Out, as immortalised by Robyn Hitchcock, Push Out The Boat and a cover of Music To Watch Girls By flirted with the lower reaches of the hit parade, however Run Me Down (a single for Two-Tone Records) bowls me over every time.
