Patrick Cowley - Some Funkettes [DE-283 USA 2020 24/88.2 FLAC]

In the last few years, Dark Entries have delivered some amazing releases as they accessed the extensive and mostly unreleased archives of the late Patrick Cowley. What is best about this body of work is that it has remained clear of Cowley's disco work, instead focusing on his early electronic experiments and left of field soundtrack work. Some Funkettes is (as the title suggests) a collection of works which bridge the gap between early electronica and disco but remaining true to the original ethos of their project. You will recognise a few of the titles, but these are not as expected, everything gets stripped back to the roots of Cowley's influences with a rawness never heard on his eventual work in the mainstream.
