Put The Funk Back Into Punk
The Higsons - Run Me Down [CHS TT 1224 UK 1983 24-Bit FLAC]
This has been on my re-rip list for a while now, finally I dusted off this fun-punk-funk twelve inch which ended The Higsons short association with Two Tone Records. I think that TV pundit and author Charlie Higson wants the world to forget his musical past, I'd say that will be kinda difficult when your band bears your name!
The A-side is infectious and funky, the B-side leans much more towards earlier Higsons singles. An album followed on Upright Records and is well worth tracking down, but please avoid the awfully mastered CD set reissued in 2013 by Cherry Red.
A1 Run Me Down (Long Version)
B1 Run Me Down (Instrumental)
B2 Put The Punk Back Into Funk (Parts I & II)
