Spear Of Destiny - Grapes Of Wrath [EPC 25318 UK 1983 24-Bit FLAC]

Following the Theatre Of Hate split, Kirk Brandon and Stan Stammers founded the more user friendly Spear Of Destiny celebrated with a deal with major label CBS. Two rousing singles, The Wheel and Flying Scotsman failed to break, however they found a following with former TOH fans joined by new listeners found by a BBC John Peel session, plus the label's better distribution and plugging network. The two tracks stand out on this album as some of the band's very best... foot stomper The Wheel was an alternative disco favourite up until the mid-eighties. Aria also stands out, finding Brandon in anthemic rock mode, a style which he was to develop further on the follow up album.
