Some of you will know of ShadowParty, however many others may not. For the uninitiated they include Boston (MA not Lincolnshire) multi-instrumentalist Josh Hager, current New Order bassist Tom Chapman, New Order guitarist Phil Cunningham and Denise Johnson from ACR. This is their debut album released on Mute in limited vinyl quantities, a compact disc or as one of those nasty download/streaming thingies.
It is quite good, I like it, there are some good tunes much in the modern day New Order style, very little filler and the vocal duo of Hager & Johnson works well. I am sure I can hear Waiting For The Sirens Call in Marigold, Celebrate was the World Cup Summer anthem which never was, Johnson's lead vocals on Present Tense are a highlight, Truth is like Marc Bolan doing The Killers.
You'll quickly appreciate that ShadowParty are much better than The Killers. Enjoy!
