Camberwell, Now!
This Heat - This Heat [THIS 1 UK 1979 24-Bit FLAC]
Ripped from an original pressing released in 1979, here is the debut album from Charles Hayward, Charles Bullen and Gareth Williams, known collectively as This Heat. The trio fuse noise, experimentation, and avant-jazz to form what could be deemed as industrial music in its most progressive form. Its possible that only Faust defied genres in such a manner.
These recordings were made over a period of three years on a mixture of cassette tapes and 24 track reels. The key track 24 Track Loop defines this album for me, it is essentially jazz, yet mutated beyond the widest realms of the free-form genre into a frenzy of post-industrial beats. The early incarnations of 23 Skidoo and Cabaret Voltaire clearly took their leads from these guys. Enjoy.
